Instructions
Brim
Ch 10.
1st row (RS): 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 9 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row 75 times more.
Joining row: Ch 1. With first and last rows tog, working through both thicknesses, sl st in each st to end of row. Do not turn.
Notes
- Ch 2 at beg of rnd does not count as a st.
- Join all rnds with sl st to first st.
Hat Body
1st rnd: Working across long side of Brim, ch 1. Work 76 sc evenly around. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each sc around. Join.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in first hdc. *Skip next hdc. 2 sc in next hdc. Rep from * to last hdc. Skip last hdc. Join. 76 sc.
4th to 19th rnds: Rep last 2 rnds 8 times more.
Shape Top
1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. Skip last sc. Join. 38 sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. Skip last sc. Join. 19 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sc. Skip last 2 sc. Join. 9 sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long end. Weave end through rem sts. Pull tightly and fasten securely.
Pompom
Wind yarn around 4 fingers 100 times. Tie tightly in the middle and leave a long end for attaching to Hat. Cut loops at both ends and trim to smooth round shape. Sew securely to top of Hat.
