Materials & Gauge

Skill Level: Easy
Size: One size to fit Adult – approx. 21″ (53.5 cm) circumference
Gauge: 16 sc and 19 rows = 4″ [10 cm]

You’ll Need:

    • Bulky Weight Yarn (Category 5)
    • Color: Sunset Strip, 1 ball or 218 yds/200 m
  • Hook: US I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Notions:
    • Steel yarn needle
    • Split-lock stitch markers

NOTES:
• Hat is worked from top down.
• Crown of Hat is worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join rnds of top unless otherwise stated. Move marker up each rnd to maintain rnd count.
• Join rnds of Side and Brim with sl st to first st.

Crown:

1st rnd: Ch 1. 7 sc in ring. 7 sc. PM on last st.
2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 14 sc.
3rd rnd: *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. 21 sc.
4th rnd: *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. 28 sc.
5th rnd: *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. 35 sc.
6th rnd: *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. 42 sc.
