Skill Level: Easy
Finished Size: Approx. 18″ x 27″ (45.7 x 68.6 cm), excluding hanging tabs
Gauge: 3 groups of 3 sts = 2½” [6.5 cm]; 6 rows = 2¼” [5.5 cm] in pattern
You’ll Need:
- Yarn: Red Heart® Kids™ (Multi: 4 oz/113 g; 232 yds/212 m)
- Blue/Green Multicolor – 6 balls
- Hook: Size U.S. H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook (or size to obtain gauge)
- Notions:

- ½” x 24″ [1.25 x 61 cm] dowel rod
- Yarn needle

Crochet Toy Pocket Wall Hanging Pattern
WALL HANGING
Ch 65.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 63 dc.
2nd row: Ch 3. 1 dcfp around each of next 2 dc. *1 dcbp around each of next 3 dc. 1 dcfp around each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
3rd to 64th rows: As 2nd row.
65th to 67th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st to end of row. Turn. 63 sc.
68th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 31 sc. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn. 62 sc. Do not fasten off.

TAB 1
1st row: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 7 sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 7 sc.
2nd to 12th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
13th row (buttonhole row): Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Ch 1. Skip next 3 sc. 1 sc in each of last 2 sc. Turn. 4 sc and ch-1 sp.
14th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Sc3tog. 1 sc in last sc. Fasten off.
TABS 2 TO 5
1st row: (RS). Skip next 4 sc of last row 68. Join yarn with sl st in next sc. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 7 sc.
2nd to 14th rows: As 2nd to 14th rows of First Tab.

TAB 6
1st row: (RS). Skip next 4 sc of last row 68. Join yarn with sl st in next sc. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each of last 6 sc. Turn. 7 sc.
2nd to 14th rows: As 2nd to 14th rows of First Tab. Do not fasten off at end of last row.
EDGING
1st rnd: (RS). Ch 1. Work sc in each st and in end of each row around, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
POCKETS (Make 2)
Top Ribbing:
Ch 9.
1st row (RS): 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 8 sc.
2nd to 63rd rows: Ch 1. 1 scbl in each sc to end of row. Turn. Do not fasten off at end of last row.
Body of Pocket:
1st row (RS): Ch 1. 1 sc in end of each ribbing row to end of chain. Turn. 63 sc.
2nd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
3rd to 22nd rows: Ch 3. 1 dcfp around each of next 2 dc. *1 dcbp around each of next 3 dc. 1 dcfp around each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
23rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st to end of row. Fasten off.

Border:
With RS facing, join yarn with sl st at top left corner of Pocket. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each st and in end of each row around to top right corner of Pocket, working 3 sc in each bottom corner. Fasten off.
FINISHING
With RS facing, sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes of tabs in place between rows 67 and 68.
Pin one Pocket in place across bottom of Wall Hanging as shown in photo. Sew in place.
Pin remaining Pocket in place 4″ (10 cm) above bottom of Wall Hanging. Sew in place, making sure bottom of Pocket is straight.
