Instructions

The instructions are written for XS/S. If changes are necessary for larger size(s) the instructions will be written XS/S (M-LXL-2/3XL-4/5XL). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to all sizes.

Back

Ribbing: With A and smaller hook, ch 65 (71-77-83-89-99).

Foundation row (RS): (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch to end of chain. Turn. 63 (69-75-81-87-97) dc.

Row 1 (WS): Ch 2. 1 dcfp around next st. 1 dcbp around next st. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 dcfp around next st. 1 hdc in turning ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2. 1 dcbp around next st. 1 dcfp around next st. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 dcbp around next st. 1 hdc in turning ch. Turn.

Rep Rows 1 and 2 until ribbing measures 2½” (6.5 cm), ending on a WS row.

Join MC. Break A.

Change to larger hook.

1st row (RS): With MC, ch 2 (counts as hdc). 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Turn. 63 (69-75-81-87-97) hdc.

Rep last row until work from beg measures 16½” [42 cm], ending on a WS row.


Shape Armholes

1st row (RS): Sl st in each of first 9 (11-13-15-16-19) sts. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to last 8 (10-12-14-15-18) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.

Cont working even on 47 (49-51-53-57-61) hdc until work from beg measures 25 (25½-26-26½-26½-27)” [63.5 (65-66-67-67.5-68.5) cm], ending on a WS row.


Right Back Shoulder Shaping

1st row (RS): Ch 2. 1 hdc in each of next 11 (12-13-14-16-18) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.

Cont on 12 (13-14-15-17-19) hdc.

2nd row: Ch 2. Hdc2tog. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. 11 (12-13-14-16-18) hdc rem.

Fasten off.


Left Back Shoulder Shaping

1st row (RS): Skip center back 23 sts after Right Back Shoulder shaping. With larger hook, join MC with sl st in next st. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Turn. 12 (13-14-15-17-19) hdc.

Front

Work from Ribbing to Armholes as given for Back.

Continue working even on 47 (49-51-53-57-61) hdc until work from beginning measures 22½ (23-23½-24-24-24½)” [57 (58.5-60-61-61-62) cm], ending on a WS row.


Left Front Shaping

1st row (RS): Ch 2. 1 hdc in each of next 15 (16-17-18-20-22) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.

Cont on 16 (17-18-19-21-23) hdc.

2nd row: Sl st in each of first 2 sts. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Turn. 14 (15-16-17-19-21) hdc.

3rd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to last 2 sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 12 (13-14-15-17-19) hdc.

4th row: Ch 2. Hdc2tog. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Turn. 11 (12-13-14-16-18) hdc.

Work even in hdc until Front measures same length as Back to shoulders.

Right Front Shaping

Cuff

Work even in Rib Pat as given for Back until work from beg measures 2½” [6.5 cm], ending on a WS row.
Join MC. Break A.

Change to larger hook.
1st row: (RS). With MC, ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in first hdc (inc made). 1 hdc in each hdc to last hdc. 2 hdc in last hdc (inc made). Turn. 33 hdc.

Next 3 rows: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of row. Turn. Rep last 4 rows 4 (2-1) time(s) more. 57 (61-63) hdc.

All sizes: Next row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until Sleeve from beg measures 22½ (23½-23½- 23½-23½-23½)” [57 (60-60-60-60-60) cm]. Fasten off.
Place markers on side edges of Sleeves 3 (3½-4-4½-5½-6)” [7.5 (9-10-11.5-14-15) cm] down from top edge.


Finishing

With MC, sew shoulder seams. With MC, sew in Sleeves placing side edges of Sleeves above markers along unworked armhole sts on Back and Front to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams, changing to A for Ribbing and Cuff seam.

Neckband

1st rnd: (RS). With smaller hook, join A with sl st to neck edge of right shoulder seam. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Work 63 dc evenly spaced around neck edge. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. 64 dc.

2nd rnd: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dcbp). *1 dcfp around next st. 1 dcbp around next st. Rep from * to last st. 1 dcfb around next st. Join with sl st to top of ch-2.
Rep last rnd for Rib Pat until neckband measures 1½” [4 cm].
Next rnd: Sl st in each st to around. Fasten off.

Bottom Edging Rnd

(RS). With smaller hook, join A with sl st in first ch of foundation row at either side seam. Sl st in each ch around lower edge of Body Ribbing. Join with sl st in first st. Fasten off.

Cuff Edging Rnd

(RS). With smaller hook, join A with sl st in first ch of foundation row of Cuff. Sl st in each ch around Cuff. Join with sl st in first st. Fasten off.
