Special Stitches

Foundation Half Double Crochet (FHDC)

CH 2, yarn over, insert hook into 2nd CH. Yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 1 loop (foundation CH), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

Repeat: Yarn over, insert hook into foundation CH, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 1 loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops.


Picot Single Crochet (PSC)

Insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 1 loop. Repeat that yarn over and pull through 1 loop two more times, then yarn over and pull through both loops. Push the chain bump to the back so it shows on the right side.


Gauge

  • 15 STs x 12 Rows = 5″ x 5″

  • Use Rows 1–12 with 15 stitches to check.

Multiply desired width in inches × 3 (3 stitches per inch)

Length

Each stripe (Rows 1–6) is 2.5″ tall
