Instructions
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger size(s) the instructions will be written thus ( ). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to all sizes.
Note: Ch 2 at beg of row does not count as st. When working dc on WS in Texture Pat note that dc will naturally push to RS of work as pattern progresses.
Back
Ch 59 (65-69-75-81-89).
1st row (RS): 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch to end. Turn. (57 (63-67-73-79-87) sts)
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sl st in first hdc. *1 dc in next hdc. 1 sl st in next hdc. Rep from * to end. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows for Texture Pat until piece measures 19½” [49.5 cm], ending on a WS row.
Shape Armholes:
Next row (RS): Sl st in first 4 (4-4-6-6-8) sts. Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to last 4 (4-4-6-6-8) sts. Turn.
Continue even in Texture Pat over 49 (55-59-61-67-71) sts until armhole measures 7 (7½-7½-8-8-8½)” [18–21.5 cm], ending on WS.
Shape Back Neck:
Next row (RS): Ch 2. 1 hdc in first 16 (18-19-20-22-24) sts. Hdc2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: Ch 2. Hdc2tog. Work in pattern to end. Turn.
Next row: Ch 2. 1 hdc to last 2 sts. Hdc2tog. Turn. 15 (17-18-19-21-23) sts
Next row: Work in pattern. Fasten off.

Join yarn with sl st in next st (skipping 13 (15-16-16-19-19) sts for neck gap).
Ch 2. Hdc2tog over same st and next st. 1 hdc in each st to end. Turn.

Right Front
Same as Left Front until neck shaping:
Next row (RS): Ch 2. Hdc2tog. 1 hdc to end. Turn.
Next row: Work even.
Repeat last 2 rows 3 more times. (25 (27-29-31-35-39) sts)
Armhole shaping:
Next row (RS): (RS). Ch 2. Hdc2tog. 1 hdc in each st to last 4 (4-4-6-6-8) sts. Turn. Leave rem 4 (4-4-6-6-8) sts unworked. 20 (22-24-24-28-30) sts rem.
Work 3 rows even in pat. Dec 1 st at front edge (as before) on next and following 4th rows
5 (5-6-5-7-7) times more. 15 (17- 18-19-21-23) sts.
Cont even in pat until armhole measures same length as Back to shoulder, ending on a WS row. Fasten off.
Sleeves
Ch 31 (33-33-37-37-39).
1st row (RS): 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch. Turn. (29 (31-31-35-35-37) sts)
2nd row: Ch 1. Sl st in first hdc. *1 dc in next hdc. 1 sl st in next hdc. Rep from * to end. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end. Turn.
Repeat rows 2–3 once more, then rep row 2 once more.
Shape Sides:
Row 1 (RS): Ch 2. 2 hdc in first st. 1 hdc to last. 2 hdc in last st. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc). Sl st in next hdc. *1 dc in next hdc. 1 sl st in next hdc. Rep. End dc in last st. Turn.
Row 3: Same as row 1.
Row 4: Ch 1. Sl st in first hdc. *1 dc in next hdc. 1 sl st in next hdc. Rep to end. Turn.
Repeat last 4 rows 1 (1-1-2-2-2) times. (37 (39-39-47-47-49) sts)
Inc 1 st at each end every 4th row until 49 (51-51-55-55-57) sts.
Work even until sleeve is 18 (18-17½-17½-17-17)” [45.5–43 cm]. Place markers at each end.
Work 4 (4-4-6-6-8) rows even. Fasten off.

Cable Panel (make 2)
Ch 14.
1st row (RS): 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in each ch. Turn. (12 dc)
2nd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in first 2 sts. Dcbp around next 8 dc. 1 hdc in last 2. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in first 2. Skip 2 sts, Trfp around next 2. Trfp around skipped 2. Skip 2, Trfp around next 2, then Trfp in front of last 2 into skipped 2. 1 hdc in last 2. Turn.
4th row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in 2. Dcbp around 8 sts. 1 hdc in 2. Turn.
Rep 3rd and 4th rows until Cable Panel (when slightly stretched), measures length to fit up Right Front to center back neck edge marker ending on a WS row and sewing in place as you work.
Fasten off.
Work 2nd Panel in same manner to fit up Left Front to center back neck edge marker. Sew Panels tog at center back neck. Sew in sleeves, placing rows above markers along unworked sts of Back and Fronts to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Place marker at center back of back neck edge.
