Instructions

Notes:

  • Chart is worked using intarsia technique. Use separate balls of yarn for each color section in design. Do not carry color not in use across top or back of stitches.
  • To join new color, work to last loops on hook of previous color. Yoh with new color, draw through rem loops and proceed with new color.

Blanket

With A, ch 57. Do not break A. With B, ch 23. Do not break B. With C, ch 46.

1st row: (RS). Work 1st row of Chart, reading row from right to left as follows: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 125 sc.

2nd row: Work 2nd row of Chart, reading row from left to right as follows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

Keeping cont of Chart, rep 2nd row, reading RS rows from right to left and WS rows from left to right, until 165 rows of Chart are complete. Fasten off.


Wing and Bow

With D, embroider Wing and Bow details using Surface Slip Stitch.

Lay strand of contrast color (not D or E) across Blanket, pinning in place on a flat surface to mark surface slip stitch lines.

With RS facing and D held at back of work (on WS), insert hook from front to back into any sc at beg of mapped strand and draw up a loop. Following contrast color strand markings, work Surface Sl St loosely as follows:

*Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop through loop on hook. Rep from * to end of marked contrast color strand. Fasten off. Remove contrast color strand after Surface Sl St is complete.
