Instructions

Band (worked sideways)

Ch 14

1st row (RS): 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch. (Ch 11. Skip next 2 ch. 1 sc in each of next 3 ch) twice. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. (1 sc in each of next 11 ch. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc) twice. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. (Ch 11. Skip next 11 sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc) twice. Turn.

Repeat last 2 rows until work from beginning measures 22″ [56 cm], ending on a 2nd row.
Do not fasten off.


Turn Work Sideways

1st row (RS): Ch 1. Work 55 sc evenly across long side of Band. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

Repeat last row until work from bottom of Band measures 5″ [12.5 cm], ending on a WS row.


Shape Top

1st row (RS): Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 12 sc. Skip next sc) 4 times. 1 sc in each of last 3 sc. (51 sc)

2nd and alt rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Skip next sc) 10 times. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. (41 sc)

5th row: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Skip next sc) 10 times. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. (31 sc)

7th row: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Skip next sc) 10 times. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. (21 sc)

9th row: Ch 1. (1 sc in next sc. Skip next sc) 10 times. 1 sc in last sc. Turn. (11 sc)

Fasten off, leaving a long end. Thread end through remaining stitches and pull tightly.
Fasten securely. Sew back seam. Pull seam slightly to gather.


Mock Cables for Band

(RS) Twist 1st horizontal bar at foundation row to form loop. Draw 2nd bar through 1st bar without twisting. Repeat, drawing next bar through previous bar without twisting until all bars have been worked. Sew last loop to second-last loop to secure. Sew buttons as seen in picture.
